Angus charms the bank gals

WE STOP AT our Calftown bank at least twice a week before opening Second String Music. The ladies who work at State Street Bank are awesome and we always have a good experience taking care of bidness.

Every now and then, Sheryl and I will take Angus the Young into the bank. The tellers love him and this morning, he was led to the back by the drive-through window, because those tellers only see him in the car. Of course Angus got a bunch of treats and turned on the charm. Wait. He turned on the charm, then got a bunch of treats - give him some credit, he isn't a dummy.

Angus is always on a leash and always well-behaved. But while he was being his normal charming self this morning, one of the bank customers came in, glanced nervously around, took a wide circle around Angus and went to the teller at the far end.

Danger is my middle name.

There are people who are afraid of dogs, and they can't help it, and I feel bad for them. We actually had a woman call us one day and tell us to put the dogs in the back of the store before she came in - we are happy to do this for anyone.

Perhaps it was a bad experience as a child with a dog, or something instilled in them, or simply just fear. If you are around Angus and Tucker in the store, your mind might get changed, but it is what it is.

We are pet-friendly and proud of it. I'm glad we can take Angus into the bank once in a while. It's all part of the small-town charm and making a daily business transaction just a little more fun.
